Two towns, two entirely different displays
Historic Downtown Breckenridge is detail work. Those Victorian-era homes have gable trim, porch posts, window casings and roofline steps that reward a clean, tight outline — one crooked run and the whole facade looks off. It's slow, careful installation with tight clip spacing, and it's worth doing properly.
Up around Peak 7 and 8, Shock Hill and the Highlands, the problem inverts. Those are large timber-and-metal builds, often set back from the road and viewed from a distance or from across a valley. Outlining every last soffit on a house that size gets expensive and, frankly, disappears at 200 yards. We design those for scale — strong roofline geometry, ridge and peak emphasis, trees and entry features that carry the display visually instead of crowding it.
Standing-seam metal at 9,600 feet
A lot of Breckenridge roofs are standing-seam metal, pitched steep to shed snow. That rules out adhesives and anything that puts a hole in the panel. We use seam-specific clamps and non-penetrating attachment so nothing is drilled and nothing is glued to a surface that will be under snow load for four months.
Elevation matters here more than most people expect. At 9,600 feet the freeze-thaw cycling is relentless, and consumer-grade light strings go brittle and fail somewhere around the third cold snap — usually in the section you can't reach. We install professional-grade materials with commercial connectors, sized and sealed for a winter that runs well past January.
Second homes and short-term rentals
Breckenridge has one of the highest concentrations of short-term rentals in Summit County, and a large share of homes here are second homes whose owners are somewhere else entirely in November. Both situations need the same thing: the display handled without a phone call from the mountain.
