In January, a Frisco roofline that went up clean in October is buried under weeks of accumulation, and the clips are frozen into it. Takedown here is a different job than installation, and it's the part most people underestimate.
January in Frisco is not October in reverse
At 9,097 feet, the snow that lands in November is still there in January. It settles, melts a little in the afternoon sun, refreezes overnight, and locks light clips to shingle edges and gutter lips. Pulling on a strand at that point is how gutters get bent and clips get snapped off in the ice. Takedown is patient work — warming, releasing, and lifting rather than yanking — and it goes a lot better when the person doing it installed the display in the first place and knows exactly where every attachment point sits.
Frisco's older homes make removal fussier, not simpler
Main Street's historic character carries into the surrounding streets. A lot of Frisco houses are older, smaller-footprint builds with steep pitches and detailed trim — dormers, brackets, fascia returns, porch posts. Those details are what make a Frisco display look good in December, because careful outlining beats sheer volume on a house this size. They're also what makes January slower. Every run of trim that got its own line has to come off individually, in order, without dragging a strand across a painted edge or a snow-loaded roof plane.

Bill's Ranch cabins tucked under mature trees hold snow long after the sun has cleared a Peak One roof. Frisco Bay properties catch enough open wind that ice tends to form in hard sheets on the windward side. We schedule accordingly instead of running one route and hoping.
